Remcodekrusel The songs of this album are in line with its predecessor the masterpiece Iron Night. Too bad it took 20 years to see the light.

AVAILABLE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE US! This split was released by boutique French indie label Arbouse in 2014 and I finally managed to get some of the last remaining copies in my mitts. The Nad Navillus track "Locks & Barriers" is part of the "From, Then" LP and can be streamed exclusively here on Bandcamp. Recorded at EAR Chicago, Studio A, one can hear the soon-arrival of my Art-Metal group ARRIVER in this doomy dirge which channels post-9/11 dread and casts an ominous, wary look at the impending 21st century. With Rob Sullivan (bass), Suzanne Roberts (violin), Dan Sylvester (drums); recorded by Greg Norman and mixed by me and him.

1.
The wind will scatter me though I am not yet ash. None of us impervious to fire steel or glass. Built to make us feel small and succeeding in its grandeur, But everything that stands must fall, Gravity is the only winner. A privilege to be speechless, Trees ripped from their roots. Unspeakable in its progress, the shelter that we choose. Locks and barriers, Hawks and hunted traitors, The center slowly sinks under a sun that never blinks, I'll find you on a fence, Or frozen in a lens.
2.
On this tired rock The trouble that we've made Only disappears To return another day And so we each day must start With willing hands or heavy heart Don’t talk to me about your alibi Or things you feel the need to justify I know you have reasons why With so many choices Want you want is hard to say You can’t see black or white When there’s so many shades of grey And so we linger and can’t decide Until another finger points us to a side Don’t talk to me about your alibi Or things you feel the need to justify I know you have reasons why
3.
Trade the new in for the old, Leave the warmth and seek the cold, Reject the pleasures and the vice, Now we're turning to the light. Are you waiting to be called All your riddles some day solved Arm in arm we'll make wrong right Now we're turning to the light I know that many do exist Walking everyday in our midst I wonder how high is the price For turning to the light We are blind Its hard to see When will love Come for me I wonder how high is the price What must we pay For turning to the light
4.
Its come to this Can't change the course unless We're willing to accept Seeming weaker than the rest And so it goes The bitterness it shows They'll wrap themselves in flags As the excuses grow Don't concern me with your plans Or lines drawn in the sand Blood in water blooms, we wash our wounds Nothings ever free Tie a ribbon to a tree Perhaps the only thing On which we all agree Silently we curse Jesus for his words Remember that he taught us The last shall be the first Tell me which way will you run The streets are choked, the voices one Blood in water blooms, we wash our wounds Torn open like sunset Red fades into violet Blood in water blooms, we wash our wounds
5.
You think you’ll go alone On the other side you’ll find no home No answers you have known So don’t ask those questions anymore You stagger through the streets No map, you wander aimlessly And the eyes of those you meet See something that you cannot see And if what they say is true Then we’ll be there together And their words had been of use Your clothes, your shoes, your hat You borrowed from a stranger that Told you he’d be back To reposses the things you have Now that you are warm You forgot the burden that you bore And look upon with scorn The others who have gone before And if what they say is true Then we’ll be there together And their words had been of use All that they know, they no longer believe Nothing they’ve felt, nothing they’ve seen No reason to believe There’d be something else Heaven is here, come help yourself
6.
We were laughing As if the first and only Born with privilege All we blessed was holy When we shared As if so generous We glowed with pride At our selflessness. We were so mistaken. When we spoke As if so bold and worldly Concerned and humble Best intentions, surely. If we seemed Arrogant and naive We never dreamed We could be so shaken. Well We were so mistaken. This much is plain So many things have changed Gone are the days Everything seemed OK We never dreamed We could be so shaken How can it be We were so mistaken?
